Golfer's Conduct

  • Please leave the course leave the course in as good or better shape than you found it.
  • Each golfer must have his/her own bag with at least four clubs and their own putter.
  • Please keep a reasonable pace of play to ensure the enjoyment for all players.
  • Groups allowing one open hole in front of them may be required to allow players through or even skip holes to catch the group in front.
  • Repair ball marks, replace divots and rake sand traps.
  • No practicing on the course is permitted; play one ball only.
  • Only flat-soled athletic shoes or golf shoes may be worn on the course. No metal or ceramic spikes are permitted at any time.
  • No "cut-off's" are allowed. The shirts of all male players must have sleeves.
  • The pairing of players is determined by the Pro Shop. Four players per pairing group is the maximum.

Golf Cart Rules

  • When your golf cart reaches the yellow rope in front of each green, it must then be taken to the cart path for the remainder of the hole. Do not go past yellow ropes.
  • Drive golf carts with caution, beware of slopes, and keep golf carts away from marked sensitive areas.
  • Stay on paths wherever possible. Extreme wetness may require golf carts to be restricted to the paths only.
  • Stop and check both directions before crossing the road on holes 6 and 15.
  • Keep golf carts out of wooded areas and low spots.
  • When the 90° rule is in effect: Cross to your ball at a 90° angle and then return to the path in the same manner.
  • Pull carts are not allowed on golf carts.
  • Keep all pull carts a minimum of 20 feet away from the green. No pull carts are permitted between greens and bunkers.

Warnings

  • Management reserves the right to exclude any golfer from the course or the premises for any unbecoming conduct or infraction of course rules without refund.
  • State law prohibits bringing any alcoholic beverages onto the premises.
  • No personal bottles, canned beverages or coolers are allowed.
  • Neither RedGate Golf Course nor the City of Rockville is responsible for any injury to players or damage to property.
  • All golfers must have a valid greens fee ticket to be shown to any staff member upon request.
  • All golfers must check in with the starter before beginning their round.
  • No children under age 10 are allowed at any time. Children age 10 and 11 may play Monday through Thursday only and must be accompanied by an adult. Players age 12 and above are permitted at all times.
  • 18-hole play must begin on hole No. 1. Players starting on hole No. 10 may only play 9 holes.
  • RedGate uses only EPA-approved chemicals. All chemicals are posted on the day of usage; material data and safety sheets (MSDS) are available upon request.

Rules of Play

  • USGA Rules of Golf apply with the exception of posted local rules.
  • All yardages are measured to the center of the green.
  • Yardage discs in fairways:
    • Blue: 200 yards
    • White: 150 yards
    • Red: 100 yards
  • Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes.
  • Free drop is permitted from all landscaped areas and staked trees.
  • Stones and rocks in bunkers may be removed before play of a shot.
  • The golf course entrance road is considered to be out of bounds.
